Maine Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts continues to help economic development in Maine by producing educational events geared to help the creative economy navigate the business world. This time, teaming up with the Center for Law and Innovation, a division of the University of Maine School of Law that supports Maine's investments in science and technology by studying and teaching about the role of intellectual property law in economic development. The Center for Law and Innovation also runs a service unit, the Maine Patent Program. See www.lawandinnovation.org.
A high-quality educational opportunity for creative entrepreneurs of varied experience. Our panel of professionals from related financial and business fields will present some of the basic concepts of managing the finances of a small creative business. A networking session, with light refreshments provided, will follow the educational portion of the program, and allow for further discussion with attendees and sponsors.
